In my photography course, I recently visited Liverpool to take pictures as there is a lot of galleries in Liverpool that are interesting and we also got to go around Liverpool and explore. We first came across this abandoned skate park which was covered in graffiti. The windows, planks of wood and also drainpipes were covered in graffiti too. I haven't seen so much graffiti like this before it was stunning. The bright colours and the different images and writing made the skate park perfect for pictures. So in this part of my Liverpool blog post I have decided to show some of the images I had taken. I tried to take some macro images of the different textures from the wall and wood chippings and show the bright colours from the graffiti and make that the main focus of the images. If you ever find yourself in Liverpool it's definitely worth a visit for images I really do recommend it. I will be putting my other images from an Old Blind School in Liverpool up on my blog this week as well. Any comments will be appreciated greatly.

Bonfire Night
It's Bonfire Night!! Everything about Bonfire Night turns a cold night into a warm and colourful evening and I love it. Unfortunately, I haven't gone out to a community bonfire as I haven't been out to one which is quite disappointing but I managed to capture a few images from my bedroom window as the neighbours opposite were letting off a few fireworks. So picture wise these are the best images I could get but I absolutely love them. The colours and smoke from the fireworks are mesmerising and absolutely beautiful and it's such a shame that I couldn't get more but I wanted to get just a few to share with you all on my blog. I hope you enjoy them and all have a lovely evening celebrating Bonfire Night.

Monika Traikov Inspiration
These are all from a photo shoot that I have recently done and I was inspired by Monika Traikov who uses this effect of distortion to create a surreal and digital effect to her images. She focuses on memories and the effect of how we see and remember memories in our heads (some can be stronger than others) and this is then shown by using editing and this was something I wanted to try and look at in my work. I used Photoshop to create this effect by using the Rectangle and Elliptical Marquee Tool to create the shapes and then I changed some of the hue and orientation of the shapes to create the surreal effect. I was really pleased with how the images came out and I feel that this is something I can take forward in future projects. If there is anything that I could do to take this effect forward then I am happy to take on any comments and I think that everyone should have a look at Monika Traikovs' work as it's really inspirational and mesmerising.

Black and White Week - Still Life
Recently in my photography, I had done a black and white week and focused on still life. This is something which is very new to me as I haven't really focused on still life so it was really exciting to try. I decided to focus on the life cycle of different flowers, so I focused on healthy flowers and then I focused on flowers which were drying and this gave texture to the images and the detail shown from the different creases and effects from the petals were coming across in the images. The top images are the images I had taken in colour as I edited them in Photoshop to change them into monochrome and I had used a few other tools (including the brightness tool and the contrast tool) to create a dark mood to the images as I felt this would work well with the monochrome effect. I had experimented with doing macro shots to really show the texture from the flowers as I feel that focusing on a certain element of the flowers expresses the beauty of the flowers. I used a book that I had bought which was full of different textured backgrounds for the backdrop of the images. This included a wooden floor effect, lined paper and tie dyed paper and I also used scrunched up, clear tissue paper and the minimalist backgrounds helps keep the attention on the main subject matters. The images below are all the images after I had converted them into monochrome.
